Theory of Machines ( TOM ) | TOM ( Theory of Machines ) | Kinematics , Dynamics , Kinetics , Statics in Theory of Machines ( TOM ) | Classification of Theory of Machines |

   -: Theory of Machines ( TOM ) :-
TOM refers to Theory of Machines . Theory of Machines is defined as - That branch of science which deals with the study of relative motion between the various parts of machine and forces which act on them , is known as theory of machines ( TOM ).

Classification of Theory of Machines :- The theory of machine may be divided in two categories -
1- Kinematics
2- Dynamics
1- Kinematics :- That branch of theory of machine which deals with the study of relative motion between the various parts of the machines neglecting consideration of forces producing it , is known as kinematics .
2- Dynamics :- That branch of theory of machine which deals with the study of various forces involved in the various parts of the machine , is known as dynamics .
Dynamics is further divided into kinetics and statics .
(i)- Kinetics :- That branch of theory of machine , we deals with various forces when the body is moving is known as kinetics .
(ii)- Statics :- That branch of theory of machine which deals with various forces when the body is stationary is known as statics .
